Welcome to DontSmokeToday. Your privacy is our priority. This policy explains how we handle information within our application — a personal daily diary designed to help you track and reduce your cigarette consumption on your journey to quit smoking.

2. Data Collection and Privacy

DontSmokeToday was built to be a private, judgment-free space for your personal records. We follow strict guidelines to minimise data collection. The only exception is anonymous analytics data collected via Firebase Analytics, described in section 3 below.

Total Transparency

No Identifier Collection: We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any login information. No account is required to use the app.
No Ads: The application does not display advertisements and does not share data with advertising networks.
Local Processing: All diary entries, cigarette logs, and personal records you enter in the app are stored exclusively in the SQLite database on your own device and are never uploaded to any server.
Anonymous Analytics Only: The sole data collected externally is anonymous usage data via Firebase Analytics, which cannot be linked to your personal identity.

3. Firebase Analytics

The only form of external data collection performed by the app is through Firebase Analytics, a service provided by Google LLC. This data is strictly anonymous and is used exclusively to:

Monitor the technical performance of the application.
Understand aggregate usage patterns to improve the user experience.
Identify which features are most helpful in supporting users who want to quit smoking.

What Firebase may collect

Device information: Device model, operating system version, and language settings.
App events: Anonymous events such as app opens, session duration, and screen views.
Approximate location: Country/region derived from IP address (IP address itself is not stored).

4. Local Storage

Since the app operates entirely with a local database (SQLite), we do not have access to your diary entries, cigarette logs, or any records you create within DontSmokeToday. If you delete the application or clear system data, this information will be permanently removed from your device unless you have performed a manual backup on your own.

5. Security

Although we do not store your data on any servers, we recommend using screen protection (biometrics or PIN) on your device to ensure that your personal diary remains private and no one else can access the app's content on your phone.
